  1. In 1997, Presidential Decree No. 326 was issued regarding the establishment of The Egyptian Electric Utility Regulatory Agency and Consumer Protection.
  2. In 2000, Presidential Decree No. 339 was issued regarding restructuring The Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency, defining its terms of reference and forming its board of directors.
  3. In 2015, a decree was issued by the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Law No. 87 of 2015 issuing the Electricity Law

  4. In 2015, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Decree No. 230 of 2016 was issued to issue the executive regulations for the Electricity Law promulgated by Law No. 87 of 2015.

Dr.Mohamed Salah El-Sobky

He was appointed as the first Executive Chairman of the Egyptera, by Prime Ministerial Decree No. 605 of 2001, from 11/5/2001 to 13/5/2006.

Eng.Abdul Rahman Salah Al-Din

He was appointed as Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency, by Ministerial Resolution No. 226 of 2006 from 14/5/2006 to 21/12/2006.

Dr.Hafez Abdel-Aal Al-Salmawi

He was appointed as Executive Chairman of the Egyptera, by Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2275 of 2006, from 12/21/2006 to 08/30/2015.

Eng.Hatem Mohamed Waheed Amer

He was appointed as Executive Chairman of the Egyptera, by Prime Minister Decree No. 3390 of 2015 from 12/26/2015 to 12/27/2018.

Dr.Mohamed Moussa Ali Omran

Appointed Acting as Executive Chairman of the Egyptera, by Prime Minister Decree No. 434 of 2018 from 24/12/2018 to 31/1/2019

Dr.Mohamed Abdel Aziz Hassan Abdel Rahman

Appointed as Executive Chairman of the Egyptera, by Prime Minister Decree No. 46 of 2019 from 1/2/2019 to 1/2/2021
