1. The Electricity Law No. 87 of 2015 was promulgated, which stipulated in Article No. (49) That:


2. Network Operator or Electricity Distribution Licensee shall apply a proposed annual plan to be approved by the Agency for the purpose of implementing projects and programs serving the Consumers in the following fields:


3.          1- Management of Electric power demand.


4.          2- Improvement of electric power usage efficiency.


5.          3- Promotion for renewable energy uses.


6.          4- Raising awareness of power usage efficiency.


7. In the course of issuance of a license validity certificate, EgyptEra shall verify the scope of applying the annual plan. In light of achieving the strategic goals of renewable energies and energy efficiency, the amount of energy that needs to be rationalized in the electricity sector is 18% of the reference year."


8. EgyptEra made a unified model for energy rationalization plans for the distribution companies affiliated with the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and trained the rationalization engineers in the companies on this model.
